Palette Platformer
My game is a puzzle platformer. You can move left and right, and jump. The goal of the game is to get to the top right of the screen, to get to the next level. However, to get there, you must jump on colored platforms. The trick is you can only stand on a platform which shares a color with your player. You can control the color of your player with J, K, and L. The game is just a demo, there aren’t many levels. Still, I hope you enjoy it.

"Palette Platformer" invites players into a mesmerizing world where color is not just an aesthetic choice but a key element in shaping the gameplay itself. Developed with a keen focus on both visual and mechanical innovation, this game offers a refreshing take on the platformer genre, blending precision jumping with a vibrant palette-shifting twist.
Visually, "Palette Platformer" is a visual feast that captivates from the first level to the last. The art style is charming, and the environments are meticulously crafted with a delightful blend of simplicity and complexity. The clever use of color not only serves as an indicator of changing mechanics but also adds a layer of immersion to the overall experience.
The core gameplay revolves around the protagonist's ability to change colors, a mechanic that opens up a spectrum of possibilities. Each color corresponds to a unique platform type or obstacle behavior, turning what might seem like a traditional platformer into a dynamic and strategic journey. The learning curve is well-designed, allowing players to gradually master the color-switching mechanic while steadily introducing new challenges.
Level design in "Palette Platformer" is where the game truly shines. Each stage presents a carefully curated sequence of platforms, hazards, and puzzles, encouraging players to think both spatially and chromatically. The synergy between color and level layout is impressive, creating an ever-evolving landscape that keeps the gameplay fresh and engaging.
The soundtrack, while not groundbreaking, complements the game's whimsical atmosphere effectively. The music is upbeat and cheerful, adding to the sense of joy and discovery as players traverse the color-shifting landscapes. Sound effects are responsive and well-integrated, providing auditory feedback that enhances the overall gaming experience.
"Palette Platformer" strikes a commendable balance between accessibility and challenge, making it suitable for a broad audience. The controls are intuitive, and the color-switching mechanic, while introducing complexity, never feels overwhelming. The game succeeds in offering a satisfying blend of casual enjoyment and the potential for mastery.
While the concept of color-changing platforms isn't entirely revolutionary, "Palette Platformer" manages to execute the idea with flair and finesse. The game's charm lies in its ability to take a familiar genre and infuse it with a chromatic twist that feels both innovative and enjoyable. It may not reinvent the wheel, but it certainly paints it in a palette of platforming excellence.
